As a kid I played with Lego®, Transformers and Action Force (G.I. Joe) Lego was the toyline that had been part of my childhood the longest.
Fast forward to 2016
I went to our local Toys’R’Us, I was looking for a gift or something. Went to the LEGO® area to catch up.
The brick bank from the Creator Expert caught my eye. I was amazed by the amount of detail.
Ended up buying the Brick bank and the Detective’s office.
Hooked on the brick again.
Went home and started building. During the build, I felt the rekindled love. So long story short, I’m hooked on the brick again.
I’ve tried to limit myself to the Creator Expert modular building series. But some other models have found it’s way to our collection also.
What’s all the fuss about?!?
If you aren’t familiar with the Lego Creator Expert line and don’t know what all the fuss is about. Here’s a quick recap.
In 2006, a poll was taken, aimed at the AFOL community. Adult fans were asked to share their ideas and opinions of what concept they would like to see for a future model from The LEGO® Group. Some of the ideas submitted were: more town and everyday buildings, structures with more architectural detail, realistic buildings, minifigure scale buildings, solid and enclosed buildings, and more. These ideas were taken into consideration and a year later the first set in the Modular Buildings series, Café Corner, was released. Some LEGO® fans were invited to provide feedback and suggestions during the design of the set.
Where’re the pictures you ask?!?
I plan to do a ‘building of the month’ blog post where I feature the Creator Expert model that I have. Some are true to the original version and some have been modified with interior or even an extra floor. + feature some of the Modular MOC’s that I have bought the instructions for.
