Debricked, The cupcake house

The cupcake house.

Designed by Kebo.

I don’t really know what to call this type of post. The first name that came up was debricked. What I’m doing is scrapping one of my buildings for parts. There are different reasons for this deconstruction.

The main reason, I’m running out of space in my modular city. (a new building is ready, or in the making to take the space)

The second reason, I’ve been inspired to build something else, where parts of this design are incorporated. (a rebuild / redesign)

That is the wonderful thing about bricks. They can be recused and put together in new creative ways.

The Cupcake house.

This model is a MOC. Inspired by a bunch of different buildings. I’m somewhat happy with the ground floor. the first and second floor, not so much. I’m working on a new 32×32 baseplate build, where the cupcake house will be incorporated. So this building is being debricked.

The ground floor:

  • The interior is from the LEGO Friends Heartlake cupcake-café 41119
  • The corner window. Saw this incorporated in a building on Pinterest, and wanted to add it to this build.
  • The front design may get a reboot in a future build.

The 1st floor:

  • Stairs to the first floor are placed on the backside of the building.
  • Never did the interior.
  • The window arches may return in a future build.

The 2nd floor:

  • Never did the interior.
  • Have a small terrace
  • Missing an access way from the first floor

 Conclusion:

I’m nowhere as talented as some of the MOC’ers out there. But this has been one of the better attempts that I’ve made. Not good enough to stay as part of the modular city.

Final note:

The hardcore AFOL, will by now have spotted that there is a mix of Lego and third-party bricks used in the model.

I am well aware of the fandom views around supporting third-party brands and their way of working. I’m not here to promote them in any way. So they will remain named ‘Third-party brands’ Including the brands that have their own original designs.

I’m not going to defend my reasons for owning these third-party models. I’m here to share my love for the modular building series and the MOC’s build by creative fans.

If you are a really passioned  AFOL, and can’t see past the ‘third-party’ thing. Please keep calm and carry on.

If I’ve featured one of your creations, and you don’t wish to be featured on my blog. Please get in touch and I’ll remove the post.

Thank you.
